The Dirty Secret About New Cars

WHAT CAR DEALERS WON’T TELL YOU.

There's Preston, who was visibly shocked (happily, of course 😉) when he came to pick up his badass 2022 F-150 Raptor from our shop.

We also have Alex, who travels the country in an RV — this week, he signed up his most recent acquisition for a complete interior & exterior ceramic coating! It's MASSIVE, so we have to do the detailing on-site.

There's also Samantha, who recently bought a 2022 Mustang Mach E. She's bringing in the car next week for polish & light swirl removal and Ceramic Pro Silver Plus.

These are just three of many examples of people who have engaged our Ceramic Coating services this Spring season. What do these three have in common? Their vehicles are NEW!

Naturally, that raises the question:

Should you ceramic coat a new car? 🧐

You may not think that a new car, fresh off the dealership, will need any detailing, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

As a matter of fact, the best investment you can make after buying a new car is ceramic coating it!

This is why.

A car dealer will often wash a new car (some several times) before delivery to the client. Rarely will this be a safe, gentle and swirl-free wash. After all, car dealers are not in the business of detailing. They're in the business of "chucking a bucket of water over it" and moving on to sell as many other cars as possible.

Therein lies the problem; your brand new ride will likely have a bunch of swirl marks and micro scratches even before you drive it!

It's true that there won't be any of the dents and dings you'll find on older cars. Still, factory paintwork is rarely in pristine condition, even on high-end vehicles.

Car dealers know this, and that's why some attempt to tack on a "specialist paint protection service" on your bill. I'll let you into a little secret. Most car dealers know next to nothing about how to properly protect a car's paint! Yet, they'll happily charge you through the nose for what's often a sub-standard paint protection job.

You need a third-party specialist. 🥇

If you're looking to keep your car #alwaysnew for many years to come or until you are ready to sell it, a ceramic coating is hands down the best way to spend your hard-earned dollars. Just make sure it's done the right way.

This is what you need to know about ceramic coating a new car.

  • There are professional-grade nano-ceramic coatings, and there are do-it-yourself coatings which are watered-down versions of the former. It goes without saying which one you should get if you want the best protection for your car.

  • A ceramic coating should be installed by certified and trained professional detailers in a controlled environment. The last thing you want is to mess up your car's clear coat with a shoddy installation!

  • Have your car coated as soon as possible after purchasing from the dealership, as you'll require less paint correction or prep work — which can save you money and time.

At VIP Auto Spa, our core service is paint protection. That's what we do day in, day out. And if our Google reviews are anything to go by, we are really good at it. And we don't use just any ceramic coating product. All our paint protection is carried out with the industry-leading Ceramic Pro 9H.

What are you waiting for? Let's talk and see how we can #protectyourinvestment.
